Great Size, easy to read font, good quality

This bible turned out to be exactly what I was looking for, though from the description and lack of pictures it is hard to tell -- I held my breath until it arrived.
Yes, the cover is very nice and different. Judge the book by the cover!
But more importantly, the pages and the text inside are just fine. The paper is not the extremely fragile tissue paper type stuff found in some bibles, though is of course lighter weight than a desktop bible. The pages easily lay flat, and the maps in the back are of heavier weight paper and will stand extra use. The words of Jesus are in red-letter, and the red ink is dark enough to be read. There is the cross-referenced verses at the very bottom of the page. The margins are not big, which is fine when considering the page count needed to be kept to a minimum. There is also a concordance/dictionary in the back, as well as an annual reading plan.
Some of the complaints I've read complain that this isn't really 'large print', and if it were a regular book, they are right -- this isn't the large print size found in books published for those with vision problems. However, it IS large print -- FOR A BIBLE. This means that the print isn't tiny; it is the same size you would find if you picked up a regular hard-cover novel. Easy to read. I've attached a photo with my hand on an open page so you can see the size, and what the text looks like if you zoom in.
Overall, a good bible and exactly what I was looking for -- small enough to take with me, large enough to read, and a nice cover that is a bit different and feels like I just bought something "new." Recommended
The size is a good size -- smaller and indeed more slim than a regular bible, and will fit easily into my purse.

I absolutely love this bible

I absolutely love this bible. Here's why:
• The print is a good size and very easy on the eyes
• Has dual bookmark ribbons, which I find incredibly helpful, especially for studying old and new testaments at the same time
• I hadn't previously read the NLT, and was hesitant at first, but it quickly became my favorite (overtaking the ESV and NASB). I find it very fluid and readable, and feel that it stays much truer to source than others like The Living Word, The Message, and The Good News translations. This translation makes me want to read more than I ever have in the past, because it's not as stiff, and therefore doesn't feel like a chore.
• I love the footnotes. They're explanatory but never cross the line into commentary (I really don't like on-page commentary). They're especially nice in places where the NLT includes, leaves out, or numbers verses a little differently from other translations, because the footnotes will point this out and include whatever verses or verse fragments were omitted from the main text.
• The physical and aesthetic design is awesome. Great weight and feel in the hand, and the two-tone cover with that damask pattern looks fantastic. So good, in fact, that my sister—who has never read the bible before—commented on how cool it looked and expressed an interest in reading it sometime. I'll be buying a second one of these for her as soon as I finish typing this.
In short: Would absolutely recommend and buy again.

Great Bible but description leaves out some important facts

The Bible itself is great but they are not correct on the product description! It is NOT leather bound but rather leatherlike. And states that on the box itself when it arrives. I am not sure I noticed that in the picture as I read it in the description so I probably did not even look at the picture once I read that it was leather. It is NOT 10.1 x 7.3 x 1.3 inches BUT RATHER 9.5 X 6.3/4 x 1. Huge difference if you are buying a Bible cover to go with it or making one to go with it ahead of time. So beware of the dimensions. It only has 1080 pages not the 1181 it states it has.
So all in all the Bible is a good Bible but they have the wrong product information for it so I am posting it for those who may be interested in purchasing it for self of family or friend.
