New and very innovative way to read (and study) the Bible!

After reading the Sampler of Roman's from this upcoming book, I am incredibly impressed. I found that I took away much more than just by reading the NLT Study Bible (which is a favorite of mine), or the Life Application Bible by itself. In other words, things soaked in rather easily for me, and had a much DEEPER meaning for me.
In fact, the notes from the NLT Study Bible, which I have read and re-read previously, seemed fresh and new for me. I can't quite explain that. I assume that to be the case since I was reading the combination of 2 Bible's notes in the same setting (and out of one book).
Either way, this was an excellent read and I only wish the Sampler was longer so I could have enjoyed the new book longer. My only complaint(s) might be, 1) the "bottom" study font size is small. THIS WOULD BE THE FONT FOR THE BOTTOM STUDY NOTES, NOT THE TOP FONT WHICH IS A 9 FONT. Tyndale tells me that "the font size for the full parallel Study will be 9. That is .25 larger than the study Bibles which are 8.75." Again, if I read that reply right, the 9 point font is for the "top" text (the Bible text), not the study note text (which takes up 2/3 of the page).
I don't know what the BOTTOM study font size is, but as my eyes get older, small fonts are difficult to see in less than average lighting (or late at night, when I don't want to blare a light in the room to read). And, 2) I wish that the introduction to Roman's (maybe all intro's??) was a "tad" longer with a slight more detail (not a lot, just a little more) and more shared about the author.
All said, I'll be adding the NLT Parallel Study Bible to my already overflowing Bible collection from the "House of Tyndale" (as my wife calls it). That is, if I can justify another Bible purchase to my wife.... Great idea and great job on this new style of a Bible! I can't imagine anyone will be disappointed when the final product comes out later this year.

Parallel Study Bible -- Two Great Study Bibles in One!

As a retired expository pastor of 50 years experience in Study Bible Research, I am glad to have Amazon make available 21st Century evangelical research Study Bibles, especially those published by Crossway, Tyndale, and Zondervan.
In 1996 I bought the Life Application Study Bible - New Living Translation and have enjoyed it as my "go-to" Study Bible. The NLT is great for its 6.3 grade reading vocabulary, memorizable text, and more especially the features that include 10,000 application ideas, 260+ charts (45 on the Life of Christ alone), 200 in text maps, and 131 "Personality Profile" character studies. All of the charts and character studies could provide a serious student daily research and devotional reading to last well over a year.
I was glad to have the whole NLT Parallel Study Bible because it put two of my five favorite Study Bibles on the same page. That means I can benefit by the research of dozens of Bible scholars from a wide range of evangelical theological backgrounds who have used hundreds of basic research resources in the covers of a five pound Bible Research Library to go along with the "library" of 66 Books of the Bible. "WARNING... Study Bible Research can become habit-forming! Let's start an epidemic!!!"

The only problem with these identified Study Bibles is that very few people know how exciting and user-friendly they are in order to provide 24-7-365 access to a "resident Bible Scholar" to give the researcher helpful answers as they read God's Word.

Easy to Read and Simple to Navigate

This NLT Parallel Study Bible is very nice. It does have a thumb index for each three books in the bible, which makes finding the appropriate book quick and simple. Each page has the bible verses at the top, and the bottom is split between Study Bible notes and Life Application notes. Great setup for both new bible readers and experienced bible readers.
