There are 65 new entries in this edition, reflecting changes in the forthcoming new edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders as well as entries covering age- and gender-specific disorders (Juvenile bipolar disorder, Female sexual arousal disorder, Male-to-eunuch gender dysphoria). There are entries on disorders and conditions (Autism, Depression); drugs and herbs (Antidepressants, St. John’s wort); procedures and tests (Magnetic resonance imaging, Intelligence tests); and treatments and therapies (Acupuncture, Journal therapy). All entries include color sidebars of key terms and references for further reading. Articles on disorders and treatments include sidebars with questions to ask health-care professionals.
