Good study Bible

I like the notes, background info, charts, etc., but find some of the notes do not fully back up the corresponding Scripture, such as the days of creation, women's head veiling, etc. Not for a seeker or one new to the faith, but for someone well-grounded in Christ, it would be fine. Also in the personal size, the print is terribly small and pages too thin, which allows other pages to show through, making reading difficult. Make the paper a bit thicker and the font a bit larger, and you'll have a good Bible.

Imitation Leather Wears Out!

The font is small. Very difficult to read while traveling. Also, it can feel like you are straining your eyes if you read for a long time. But if you are used to 7 point it shouldn't be a problem.
Beware that this IS imitation leather. I had this bible for less then 3 yrs (very short life span in my opinion) before I had to upgrade to a bonded leather Bible. (I got the NLT Personal Size Bonded leather from Christianbook.com) Do yourself a favor and buy genuine or at least bonded leather from the start. It will pay off in the long run, even though they are more expensive. If you buy this Bible get a bible cover at least. My cover of this Bible sticks and peels off. It "sweats" and then leaves stains (it is washable, just looks strange) on your lap and sticks to your clothes. Simply put it wore out fast. Also it would stick to other books that i placed it on top of and when pulled of would leave tiny pieces of the cover on the books. The binding doesn't feel sturdy. I often threw it into my backpack to carry around, so maybe that's why it wore out so fast. If you don't use your Bible much you might not have this problem.
However, Life Application is the #1 study Bible and I wholeheartedly agree there. It's got lots of great comments on the verses, and especially in some of the OT passages that sometimes seem harder to apply, it brings them to life.
I personally prefer the format of the 2005 (the one I bought anyway, i don't know if all of them are)
edition over the 2007. Psalms, some
prophecies, etc are in a aligned left format
like this, with shorter lines that stands out
in the text, every other line indented, whereas the 07 is all
paragraphs. the '05 is a much "cleaner" read.

pretty good

I have the tutone navy blue/black edition of this bible. i am a bible junkie and personal size bibles are my preference. it is lightweight and beautifully put together. the notes are extensive making thi bible a devotional mixed theological study.
I DONT LIKE: the paragraphed text. i am persoanlly a fan of double column red letter editions, this one is niether double column nor red letter, its paragraphed. highlighters leak through there isnt much room to write notes, if any at all.
What gives this bible a notch is its size and notes. i recommend it.
